Best LEGO Star Wars minifigures from each trilogy (prequel, original, and sequel)

The world of LEGO Star Wars can be easily carved into three eras: prequel, original, and sequel. While not every era has been given the same attention by the LEGO Group, there are tempting minifigures from every time period.

Prequel Trilogy

75333 Taun We

Kaminoan minifigures are nearly unheard of throughout the past 26 years of LEGO Star Wars and it’s well worth celebrating the collecting the very first one of
its kind. Taun We’s exclusive minifigure from 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter makes use of a specialised molded head with a suitably lengthy neck
to best depict the character and species. It works far better than using a mix of standard pieces and a head and you won’t find anything like this in any other LEGO Star Wars set.

Combine that with a dress piece for the legs and a detailed torso with printed shaping and you have a LEGO Star Wars minifigure that is well worth collecting for the novelty alone

75367 Captain Rex

The recent Captain Rex minifigure in his Phase 2 armour has had a unique journey in the LEGO Star Wars portfolio. He was initially exclusive to an Ultimate Collector Series set but then launched in a Microfighter model at a far more affordable price. Love it or hate it, this adds a certain level of appeal and novelty to an already highly detailed minifigure. Captain Rex’s newer minifigure comes with an exclusive head that references the removal of the biochip, a fabric pauldron, as well as printed arms and legs. This is one LEGO Star Wars minifigure you need to have of this fan-favourite character.

Original Trilogy

75396 Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker remains one of the most iconic characters across pop culture, never mind Star Wars, and his new minifigures from 75396 Desert Skiff & Sarlacc Pit makes use of the fresh and uncommon hair piece specific to the character’s iconic hairstyle. The simple but effective printing on the legs and torso only help to increase this minifigure’s recognition as Luke Skywalker. You just can’t have a LEGO Star Wars collection without this iconic character, and you might as well own the most recent and most accurate one.

75365 Rebel Fleet Trooper

Considering the fact that they are one of the first factions to appear on-screen in Star Wars movie history, the Rebel Fleet Troopers aren’t nearly as common in
LEGO Star Wars as you think, especially not compared to the Stormtroopers that they battle. Thankfully, they have appeared a few times in LEGO Star Wars sets, and they’re still making use of their original helmet elements. The minifigure from the retired 75365 Yavin IV Rebel Base is one such recent appearance of the Rebel Fleet Trooper and it’s worth collecting a few of this minifigure to pay tribute to the classic troopers from the very start of LEGO Star Wars.

Sequel Trilogy

40658 Holiday Sweater Rey

Sequel trilogy minifigures are more limited than that of either the prequel or original trilogies, and there’s no such minifigures in the current LEGO Star Wars sets. Thankfully, 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama has us covered with a pair of matching sequel trilogy minifigures that are the perfect combination of fun and commemorative. Rey’s sweater-wearing minifigure has the Millennium Falcon emblazoned boldly on the jumper with an adorable pattern.

40658 Holiday Sweater Finn

Finn also has a holiday minifigure in the retired 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama, matching perfectly with Rey and you can’t really have one minifigure without the other. Finn’s seasonal minifigure wears a sweater with the emblem of the Rebel Alliance proudly displayed on it. Pair that with Finn’s smiling face and black hair and it’s a great depiction of the character for your LEGO Star Wars collection.
