Six of the best LEGO Star Wars sets to recreate iconic movie moments

Return of the Jedi’s Sarlacc Pit scene and has been recreated in LEGO Star Wars a few times. The most recent iteration of this model not only pairs well with a certain Ultimate Collector Series set, but includes minifigures of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and Boba Fett as well as the bonus Nien Nunb for the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars.

The builds in this set include the titular skiff and Sarlacc Pit, combining for a faithful display of the Return of the Jedi scene that – when paired with the minifigures – creates a great tribute to the film that can be easily upgraded with a UCS model.

While 75394 Desert Skiff & Sarlacc Pit is designed for play, 75380 Mos Espa Podrace is all about display. The microscale model is built up on a black diorama-style base with a quote plaque and some stunning scenery to accompany the two podracer builds.

As the duo of vehicles race through the canyon, the 781-piece display captures this moment inn easily displayable model for the prequel-loving Star Wars enthusiast. Considering rare podracing sets have become anyway, this LEGO Star Wars set is certainly one not to miss.

75387 Boarding the Tantive IV

75387 Boarding the Tantive IV walks the line between diorama and playset, but no matter what this is a LEGO Star Wars set worth picking up for the minifigures alone, never mind how accurately it recreates the iconic opening moments of A New Hope. You can add an homage to Darth Vader’s terrifying introduction to your home with this 502-piece build.

75387 Boarding the Tantive IV has six minifigures for the Empire and the Rebels as well as a bonus Fives minifigure for the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars. This is somehow the only LEGO Star Wars set dedicated to this scene in the history of the theme, as well as a great option for army-builders.

75337 AT-TE Walker

Look towards the prequel trilogy again with 75337 AT-TE Walker. Whether you want one copy or multiple to make an expansive battle scene based on Revenge of the Sith. The 1,082-piece model features five minifigures – Commander Cody, a 212th Clone Gunner and 3 212th Clone Troopers.

There’s also three Battle Droids, each with weapons. 75337 AT-TE Walker’s builds include the walker itself with six legs and enough room for seven minifigures inside the vehicle. The walker is
brimming with weaponry and this is certainly a playable LEGO Star Wars set, as well as one that is well-suited for displays of Utapau battles. The Battle Droids are accompanied by a Dwarf Spider Droid model as well.

40407 Death Star II Battle

The retired 40407 Death Star II Battle promotional model is available now on Jedinet and falls into a similar category as 75380 Mos Espa Podrace, offering a small display that uses microscale to depict an iconic Star Wars scene with few pieces.

The twist with this model is that much of the set is built on is side, then laid down. It’s an excellent showcase of building techniques that you can show off to friends and family, while setting itself apart from the other LEGO Star Wars display sets.
