Ray Park is going to be in Indianapolis over Thanksgiving weekend. Here’s stuff from the web site.

Welcome to Starbase Indy: The Anti-Con! Come join us in an a universe that leans toward the Dark Side on Thanksgiving weekend 2007, Nov. 23-25, in the Indianapolis Marriott East. This year Starbase Indy is going where no Starbase Indy has gone before. While the convention has always been fan-run, the focus will more than ever be on fans — and fun.

Advance registration for the entire weekend is a very affordable $40. This IS the convention you’re looking for. Buy a ticket, you will!

Coming to the Anti-Con will be Ray Park, who drew us to the Dark Side as Darth Maul in Star Wars; Ray will share with us his passion for martial arts. The Great Luke Ski will turn the science fiction universe upside down with his parodies. George “Lucas” Starkey, who appeared in the independent film “Saving Star Wars,” will be on hand. And David Reddick will display the artistry known on www.startrek.com’s The Trek Life.

Forget what you’ve known about conventions in the past. Forget the expensive weekend prices, the long autograph lines, the crowded weekend schedules where you attend one event while missing several others going on at the same time.

The convention will be smaller and more intimate, with programming for like-minded people who love Trek and other things science fiction.

A dance will follow the Masquerade contest this year, so don your best sci-fi duds. Belt out some tunes at Jabba the Hutt’s House of Karaoke. And try your hand at some open gaming or the scavenger hunt.

Hungry? Visit the con suite. It was a great place to hang out last year, and many saved the price of a meal or two by grazing on the food provided.

There will be movies, including a Bad Movie Night. There will be munchies. There will be sci-fi bloopers. And more. Expand your mind with sessions on quantum physics, the physics of Star Trek and the ethics of Star Trek.

Ships will be reporting for duty at the annual Starfleet Command meeting. And in a decidedly alternate universe, the infamous Barfleet will entice convention-goers with another out-of-this world party.

Convention charities this year will be the Children’s Bureau of Indianapolis and Cat’s Haven. Go to www.starbaseindy.com for more information.
