Here is the official press release

Imagine going on a magic carpet ride with Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi – or fighting Stormtroopers alongside Mulan. The Star Wars Musical leads you on a trip down memory lane by taking the best of Disney’s classic hits and Star Wars’ legacy combined into a parody of Episode IV: A New Hope, the original film in the Star Wars saga. Created by a team of fervent Star Wars and Disney-loving fans and professional talents, Star Wars Musical couples the realm of Star Wars with a magical wonderland of Disney that utilizes elements of animation and live action.

Star Wars Musical achieved viral success with over 250,000 views and restless excitement for the following sequel. With solidifying plans for Star Wars Musical’s take on Episode V: Empire Strikes Back just around the corner, executive director and composer George Shaw is seeking bigger aspirations for his musical project. The team is aiming to release their adaptation, entitled “Star Wars Musical: The Empire’s New Groove” by December 2016, but this goal will be difficult to achieve without the support of devoted Star Wars and Disney fans like you! Through this campaign, the team hopes to bring their passion project to a whole new level in terms of quality and production and present it to fans who share the same affection for their geekdoms worldwide.
