Del Ray cancels Darth Plagueis novel

Filed under: Books,Expanded Universe — Elrik at 10:15 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2007

According to recent developments James Luceno’s upcoming novel about Darth Plagueis by Del Ray books has been canceled. Luceno has written many Star Wars books like Cloak of Deception, Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, and Labyrinth of Evil among others.
The book was scheduled for release in October 2007 and Del Ray initially decided to put it on hold. Publishers eventually canceled the release since (for the time being) they didn’t want to reveal more information about Emperor Palpaltine’s instructor Darth Plagueis.

SW Battlefront 3 only for Xbox360?

Filed under: Games — Elrik at 8:00 am on Wednesday, March 28, 2007

(Please keep in mind that this is a rumor and should be treated as such)

Since Lucasarts (LA) decided to drop Star Wars Battlefront 2 (SWBF2) developer Pandemic for New Radical a lot has been written and predicted about the sequel of the game (currently known as SWBF3).

Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been Lucasarts best-selling Star Wars title and the company certainly doesn’t want to take any chances with it. So far LA has only confirmed its intention to continue the series without giving out any further details.

As many people pointed out the reason SWBF2 became a best seller was the game’s availability to many different platforms. Whether Microsoft paid “big bucks” to keep SWBF3 an Xbox 360 exclusive or not, remains to be seen.

SW Knights of the Old Republic 3

Filed under: Games — Elrik at 4:52 pm on Tuesday, March 27, 2007

UPDATE July 2008: it has been reportedly confirmed that KOTOR 3 is under development and will be an MMO.

Even though Star Wars gaming headlines have been dominated by Lucasarts’ announcement about its upcoming release Force Unleashed, I thought I would post here in regards to another highly anticipated game – Knights of the Old Republic 3 (Kotor 3).

Both Lucasarts and Obsidian Entertainment (creators of Kotor 2 – The Sith lords) have confirmed their intention to go ahead with the project (check the links below) without making a specific announcement about its release date. Not surprisingly, the Star Wars gaming community is buzzing with anticipation as many Kotor forums have already been filled with Kotor 3 prediction threads.

Recently Lucas Fan Network (LFN) owners Aristotle and Visac were interviewed by StarWarsKnights.com where they had the chance of describing their working relationship with Lucasarts and their unique opportunity of previewing upcoming Star Wars releases.

When asked about the possibility of seeing Kotor 3 soon, both men denied making any comments about it since they are bound by Lucasarts Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). At the same time, they didn’t deny its existence and added that more information will be available soon.
Who knows? Maybe Kotor 3 is closer than we think…

Star Wars Original Trilogy in 15 Seconds

Filed under: Classic Trilogy — Trilogist at 9:33 pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2007

If you are ADD-riddled like me, or insanely busy like me, you might appreciate being able to watch all three original trilogy Star Wars films condensed into 5 seconds each. So sit down, relax, and enjoy the next fifteen seconds. You’ll still have to wait 45 more seconds for the popcorn. Then you may go about the rest of your day.
